The effect

Sit it in any bowl, vase or tabletop fountain and still water becomes a heavy, slow mist that spills over the rim and settles across the table. No heat, no smoke, no smell. Just water, moving.

The light

Lit from under the water.

Four colour LEDs sit around the ceramic disc, under the surface, so the light comes up through the mist instead of shining at it. The mist carries the colour with it as it rolls over the rim.

The power

Runs off any USB you already own.

5V and 5W, on a USB lead. A phone charger, a laptop, or a power bank in the middle of a garden table where there is no socket. No wiring, no adapter to lose.

The safety

It knows when the water runs out.

A metal sensing head on top cuts the power the moment it loses contact with water, and water-shortage protection stops it running dry. Leave it on and forget about it.

Fill the bowl
Any bowl, vase or fountain. Enough water that the body is fully covered and the mist outlet sits about 2 cm under the surface.

Lay it flat
It has to sit horizontally on the bottom, facing up. That is the whole installation.

A phone charger, a laptop, or a power bank on the garden table. Mist starts straight away, and the colours come up with it.

Good to know.

How much water does it need?
Enough to cover it completely, with the mist outlet about 2 cm below the surface. Too shallow and it will not mist. Any bowl deep enough to hide your hand is about right.
What do I plug it into?
Anything with a USB port. A phone charger, a laptop, or a power bank if it is sitting somewhere with no socket nearby. It draws 5V and 5W, so almost any charger will run it.
What happens if the water runs out?
It stops. A metal sensing head cuts the power as soon as it loses contact with water, and water-shortage protection stops it running dry. It will not burn out if you forget it.
Is the mist hot?
No. It is ultrasonic, so it vibrates water into mist rather than boiling it. The mist comes out cool and is safe to touch.
Can I put it in a pond or a fish tank?
Yes. It is made for fish tanks, ponds, rockeries and tabletop fountains as well as bowls and vases indoors.
Can I add essential oils or fragrance?
We would not. It is built for plain water, and oils can clog the ceramic disc. Use it for the mist and the light, and scent the room separately.
